5:00 Road work.  Ellie and me hit Wishon with gusto.

7:00 I met with Jim and Jonathan Ford for breakfast.  They have an inicredible start-up company that specializes in organic, natural fungicides.  Instead of trying to attract a Fortune 1000 company, let's grow one!

8:30 Conference call with Darrel Frey from Corcoran.  I'll be speaking down there tomorrow afternoon to a group of downtown businesses.

8:45 I got an update from Kelly Trevino, our Incentive Zone Manager, on a solution to a problem that was negatively affecting some of our local people and businesses.  Census tracts that are not within one particular jurisdiction can't get Enterprise Zone benefits.  So, if the City boundary doesn't include a whole census tract, the people in that area are excluded from the program.  Kelly and the county have idenitfied a way to solve the problem through the state.  This mostly affects people in Southwest Fresno, now they'll be included in the program's benenfits!

9:30 We have out Dept. Management meeting.  George is at a seminar, so it was Elliott, Amy, Elaine and me.  We mostly discussed the shifting time resources that will be required to invest into the Specific and Community plans.

10:30 Wilma quan, Elaine, Elliott and I met to review reesponsibilities and time management issues for the new plans.
